Join Me in Honoring Isabel Leonard re: Wendy's 60th
03/28/18 Update. 84% of goal, only $287 left to 100x Chai goal before April 12th which would have been Isabel’s Birthday.
As my wife Wendy has reflected on her 60th Birthday she has consistently mentioned two things. First, she wants to visit Israel and we are putting plans together for a trip. Second, Wendy is so sad that her best friend Isabel, who courageously battled terminal cancer including Breast, for 19+ years until May 14, 2016 is not here to celebrate with Wendy on her 60th Birthday.
For the past several years, Wendy, Isabel's Husband Greg, Rick Sherman and others have participated in the Ohio University Athens Race For The Cure. While Iz is not able to physically be here on Wendy's special day, I know she is here in spirit. Please join me in honoring Wendy's 60th Birthday of life by supporting the memory of Isabel Leonard with a donation to this great organization. If you have personally been impacted by cancer or someone in your family has and you would prefer to make a donation honoring your loved one, please do so in honor of Wendy's Birthday.
In Judaism and Hebrew the number 18 is noted as "Chai" as it's other translated meaning of "Life". You may recall the phrase L'Chaim as Jews Toast with Wine, which means "To Life". It is common practice when wishing others well with a financial gift to pledge Chai or double Chai etc. That is why sometimes we write checks for $18.18 or $36.36 etc. With the spirit of Life and memory of Isabel and her bond with Wendy in mind, please help me add to this special day and help us reach our initial goal of $360 and seconary goal up to $1,800 to The Susan G Komen Organization.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Isabel Leonard was one of those people. Now we are celebrating her courageous fight against breast cancer. To honor Isabel Leonard memory and her close friendship with Wendy, and to celebrate how far she has come, I have decided to support Susan G. Komen in their fight against breast cancer.
Please help me honor Isabel Leonard through Wendy by raising funds to support Susan G. Komen so they can provide education, screening and treatment programs for women and men in our community, and support cutting-edge research so that one day we can live in a world without breast cancer.
As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
You can make a donation online with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer.
Thank you for your generous support and for helping me fill the void Wendy, Greg, Rick and all those that loved her by honoring the memory of Isabel Leonard with a "Life" Memory towards a cure.
