This past year, I lost two ballooning friends to breast cancer.  Far too many people received the diagnosis: my sister-in-law, two teaching friends, and a good friend of Levi and Heather's.  Jeff"s future mother in law continues her battle with breast cancer as does another ballooning friend.  It is more important than ever that the research for a cure continues as well as funding for screening and treatment for uninsured women.

I think of my beautiful sister nearly every single day and know that I can't stop until there is a cure.  I hope that you will make a donation to support Komen Columbus.  I have met personally with the local executive director and most of the staff and I can tell you that they are all committed to the cause.  In 2013, Komen Columbus funded programs which provided nearly 17,000 women in a 30-county service area with life-saving breast cancer screenings, treatment and education.  From the mammograms funded by Komen Columbus last year alone, breast cancer was detected in more than 40 women. Early detection is the key to reducing breast cancer mortality in Ohio- which ranks fourth in the nation in breast cancer mortality.

You can donate online with a credit card by clicking on the "Donate to Patty" located at the top of the thermometer.  If you prefer, you can write a check to Komen Columbus and mail it to me at 522 Hill Street, Coshocton, OH  43812.
