Participating in the Race for the Cure this year is more personal than ever. I'm diligent about getting my mammograms every year so when I was called back for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound, I wasn't too concerned - breast cancer doesn't run in my family and I had just seen my gynecologist in December. Finding out that I have Stage 1A Invasive Ductal Carcinoma was a huge shock. If I had not scheduled my annual mammogram, we would have found this much later. I'm grateful for the technology that allows for early detection. I'm grateful for the advancements in treatment. And I have an amazing support system that I'm truly grateful for. I will kick cancer's ass!!
